This mural shows the view of the San Francisco and Marin Headlands landscape as would be seen from Berkeley, over wheat fields, a butternut squash patch, grape vines and olive groves. This is our cross between California landscape/agriculture and Tuscan landscape/agriculture, which carried into our second landscape mural for the Phoenix Pastificio. We incorporated the phoenix, a peacock (some once lived on the street by The Phoenix), and a magical Spinach Cat (the favorite color of cat of Antoine, the son of the shop's owner). |
